Principal's Welcome
My name is Denisa Kasana. I completed my high school studies in Bratislava and graduated from the High School of Pedagogy. Later, I continued with my studies and pursued a bachelors and masters degree at the Faculty of Education at Comenius University in Bratislava.
Upon graduating from high school I taught two years in a preschool in Bratislava. After, I went abroad to USA where I had the opportunity to see the preschool educational system in Texas. Seeing new methods, procedures and the individual approach to children's personalities had a great impact on me. When I came back to Europe I searched for a method that would allow my son Martin to study the same way as in USA. However, after the revolution the options were limited.
I decided to visit the QSI International School of Bratislava and found it very interesting. Unfortunately, at that time there was no preschool for children aged 2 - 4. I talked to the management and proposed to establish a preschool; this is where my career in QSI began. Throughout my career I had the opportunity to meet and work with children from all around the world. At the early beginning there were only a few children and so the pedagogues not only taught the area they specialized in, but they were able to dedicate their time to activities such as swimming, P.E., art, etc. I also established and organized the QSI summer schools and summer camps; I am happy the tradition continues to this day. I also focused on extracurricular activities, mostly art and ceramics, and organized Saturday workshops with aesthetic objectives.
My son, Martin, graduated from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in December of 2011. Currently, Martin works at Microsoft in Prague, after 11 years spent at Microsoft in Austin, Texas. My younger son, Andrejko, successfully graduated from QSI International School of Bratislava, finishing both the IB and AP programs with almost full score and with a diploma for the student of the year in 2023. He is currently continuing his higher education at the St. Joseph's University in New York City - Brooklyn. My youngest daughter, Dianka, currently studies at QSI International School of Bratislava. I am very proud of the progress all three of my children make not only in terms of the English language but overall in all areas of their lives.
