Little Chefs in Action: Rice Cake Creations!
This week in preschool, our little learners put on their chef hats for a fun and tasty cooking
activity! The children got hands-on experience making their own healthy snacks by spreading
peanut butter on rice cakes and decorating them with a variety of fresh fruits. From bananas
and strawberries to kiwis and apple slices, the combinations were as creative as they were
delicious. It was a wonderful way to encourage fine motor skills, explore textures and tastes,
and practice independence.
Beyond just making a snack, this activity sparked great conversations about healthy food
choices, colors, shapes, and sharing. The classroom was filled with excitement and pride as the
children showed off their edible masterpieces to friends and teachers. We loved seeing their
confidence grow as they created something all on their own—and the best part?
Getting to eat it afterward!

The month of March is dedicated as always to the importance of Books. We explored the different parts of a book from the title, cover, page, authors and illustrators. We read lots of stories and one of our favourite became the story of The Three Little Pigs. We read the story and then we all together tried to retell the story based on pictures from the book.
And, at last, we became the actors using props of the little pigs and a bad wolf to act the story out.
We had lots of fun while we were making our voices to sound soft and loud and blowing the
houses down, pretending to be a bad wolf. And what did we learn from the story? We learned that
hard work and patience pay off in the end.
Storytelling for children brings many benefits such as: improves vocabulary and concentration, sparks imagination and creativity, builds emotional intelligence and most importantly creates a
love of reading.

Jack and the Beanstalk adventure!
Children dove into the magical world of Jack and the Beanstalk through hands-on activities inspired by the story. They planted their very own „magic beans“ and made guesses about how tall their bean plants might grow. Using rulers and measuring tape, they practiced comparing heights, learning about centimeters, and applying mathematical concepts in a fun and engaging way. As a part of this activity, they also developed their observational skills by tracking the growth of their plants daily. Their excitement grew as they imagined towering beanstalks reaching into the clouds!

The arrival of a new month always equals exploring some brand new topics. In March, we had the opportunity to explore the beautiful season of Spring and all the vocabulary associated with it . The Kindergarteners also embarked on a fun spring- inspired project namely: Creating a Friendly 3D Spring Inspired Monster or Sculpture making use of at least three different items related to spring eg. rainbow colours, butterfly wings, clouds, grass, flowers, leaves, seeds, twigs etc.
Project-based learning is an educational approach that centers around hands-on projects. The educational value of project based learning lies in its goal to foster holistic development and learning in children. Simply put, it supports social, emotional, physical, mental, and intellectual growth. By engaging children in enjoyable projects and activities, project based learning cultivates a love for learning, as well as nurtures creative and critical thinking.
With some crafty help from home, for this project each student created their own uniquely different and sustainable creation. Afterwards they shared with their classmates what exactly it was they had created , as well as how they had made it. It was a joy to watch children interacting & learning together in a nurturing setting.

Grow a Rainbow
How can we simply explain to children how a rainbow is formed? Try this fun and easy science experiment you can do at home with your child! All you need is a paper towel, water, and washable markers.
Children will love watching their rainbow “grow” in this simple activity. The washable marker dye will slowly travel upward with the water and meet in the center of the paper towel. Leave it for 10–15 minutes, and the colors will eventually connect, creating a beautiful rainbow.
It's a delightful way to explore a natural phenomenon together!

In March, during the Month of Books, we had fun making our own simple paper books. This activity helps children enjoy reading and feel proud of their creations. We also support early literacy development by encouraging children to express themselves through drawing, while enhancing their fine motor skills, creativity and understanding of the structure of books such as cover, title, beginning, and end. After creating books we presented and described our books and promoted language development.

The universe is an amazing topic that fascinates almost everyone. For children, it’s not just a wellspring of real facts, but also an opportunity to escape into fantasy among stars, galaxies, comets, asteroids, and various planets—a kaleidoscope of colors in space. Therefore, we didn’t hesitate to involve the children in an art competition called ‘The Universe Through the Eyes of Children.’ Through discussions, browsing, and reading from an encyclopedia, we learned about various interesting facts and knowledge from this area. We added a bit of our own imagination and creativity, put the idea on paper, and the children drew and then colored it with water or wax colors. Adding glitters give the artworks the right sparkle!
