Cooking Club
This time, we would like to introduce you to our cooking lessons. Cooking is truly one of the most popular activities during the week.
During our cooking lessons, we enjoy preparing simple and delicious recipes together with the children, focusing as much as possible on meals made with fresh fruits and vegetables. The children also love working with dough, so we often choose recipes that involve plenty of rolling, mixing, shaping, and cutting. Of course, always with appropriate safety in mind.
These lessons are not only a wonderful opportunity for children to develop their practical and fine motor skills, but also to build a positive relationship with preparing and enjoying healthy food. When children are actively involved in preparing a meal, they are often more curious and willing to taste it and there is a good chance they will want to recreate the experience at home, too!
Cooking with children helps build self-confidence, creativity, independence, and practical knowledge about food and nutrition. And, of course, the best part comes at the end, they get to enjoy something they have prepared, baked, or cooked themselves!
It is a wonderful way to learn, create, and enjoy delicious food together.
Bunnies, 4-5yo - Senec
Transportation Unit
Bunnies enjoyed our transportation unit a lot. We talked together about different types of transport, such as cars, buses, bicycles, and walking. The children also learned why traffic signs are important and how they help keep people safe on the roads.
After our discussion, the children looked at several common traffic signs and talked about what they mean. Many of them were excited because they recognized some signs they had already seen outside with their parents. Later, the children made their own traffic signs using paper, markers, and other craft materials. They were very proud of their colorful creations and happily showed them to their friends.
To make the activity even more fun, we created a small “road” in our classroom. The children placed their handmade signs along the road and pretended to be drivers and pedestrians. As they moved along the road, they carefully followed the signs and tried to behave safely.
Through this playful experience, the children learned more about transport and traffic rules. Most importantly, they discovered that learning about safety can be both interesting and fun.
