April 2023 in Benamin Preschool

Benjamin Preschool Senec

Owl Class

“Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment”- MaryAnne F. Kohl. In April we unleashed our inner artists as we took inspiration from one of the greats of Impressionism Claude Monet’s ‘The Waterlily Pond’. Monet had achieved a completely new, fluid, and somewhat daring style of painting in which the water-lily pond became the point of departure for an almost abstract art. Per MarryAnne Kohl’s infamous words we hoped to inspire a love and necessity for art and creation in our budding artists. We used an array of soft pinks, blues and greens, texture and painting techniques to create our works. Above all, the owl class had fun; this process art activity allowed the children to run wild and engage their senses.

Disney Magic Class

April 22 belongs to our EARTH. Our EARTH celebrates birthdays every year. Disney Magic Class tried to give her a nice gift. After our conversation about our planet we made a promise to behave towards the Earth with respect, care and love. As a first gesture towards our planet, we put on gloves and took a walk around our preschool to see how much of a mess we all make and produce. We started to collect all the rubbish and our bin bags were full after our short walk and we put the rubbish to the correct bins based on the material it was made of. Through this activity children reviewed the importance of recycling, saving water, taking care of animals, planting plants, reusing things and the importance of reducing the mess. Children also planted to our flower beds strawberries, peas and radish.

Birthday wish from Disney Magic Class:

Happy Birthday our lovely Earth and thank you for giving us all what we need (air, water, plants, space, food….)

Kindergarten Class

In line with the focus on sustainability that we aim to promote leading up to Earth Day,the Kindergarten Class had a Trashion Show: the fashion show for all things recycled and sustainable.

With some lively music, we had a costume showcase where each child had the opportunity to present their costume, and talk about the materials used to create it, not only to their classmates, but also to students from our younger classes.

Carrying out this activity helped our students to realize how much waste is created everyday at home and at school, and how some of it can be reused or recycled in a fun and creative way.

Ms. Jojka's Class

Color changing flowers science experiment is a perfect activity for spring. It is really easy to do and the kids love watching the flowers change color. How did we do it?

We put food coloring of different colors in each glass with water and then we added only a white carnation. Check the flowers every few hours and watch for any changes.

Ms. Dani's Class

This is an activity where children learn to build words for different objects. We were using The large movable alphabet, mat, and the Pink object box, (‘this box contains objects that are three-letter phonetic words), for example, pot, hen dog, etc.

This activity helps to develop the child’s memory, it lays a foundation for correct spelling, as well as the child learns that words are made up of sounds.

Ms. Suzy's Kindergarten Class

We use Math everywhere and basically every day. We introduce various games through which children get Math operations in a playful way. Those are either pretend games, or counting cards and objects, using various Montessori tools or programming Beebot.
